Cushing, Oklahoma lies on the border of Creek and Payne counties in Oklahoma and is called the “Pipeline Crossroads of the World.” Cushing is the designated physical delivery point for the West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures contract, traded on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The area surrounding Cushing boasts an immense “tank farm” with capacity for 100 million barrels of crude oil storage. Cushing is home to one of the largest crude oil storage facilities in the world and accounts for about 15% of total U.S. crude oil storage.
Aaron Bundy has spent years representing all types of oilfield workers in their divorces and child custody cases. He has assisted roughnecks and leasehands who are out on the rig for weeks at a time, dealing with child custody schedules. Aaron has advised pipeline operators, landmen, and engineers who might have high-value assets, deferred compensation, or other complex business interests tied to their work. Other workers, including pipeline welder “road warriors” and truck drivers have their own unique financial situations and often face child support calculations tied to fluctuating income or per diems. Oilfield executives and entrepreneurs often have substantial wealth, private equity interests, and even artwork. These cases require a lawyer who is financially-educated and understands complex corporate structures and valuation of significant assets.
Aaron has dealt with the specific challenges that arise when dealing with families deeply embedded in the oil and gas industry in this region. The work is demanding and each person’s time is valuable. Aaron and his partner Kathleen Egan are each fellows of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers with proven experience navigating the unique financial and logistical challenges of the oilfield community in Cushing, Drumright, Bristow, Stillwater, Sapulpa, and the surrounding areas.
